Express Yourself at ArtStacks

Welcome back!

I'm very excited to be using papers from the brand new "Artist Series" stacks from ArtStacks. The "Artist Series" range are stacks that are designed by well-known, incredibly talented papercrafters. These first stacks have been designed by Lorraine Haight Moraine.

I used her Altered Ancestors to make these tags. I thought the cheeky, slightly outrageous style of the Altered Ancestors worked well for my theme of "Express Yourself".

Both tags feature quotes from musicians - the first from Billy Idol and the second from Madonna.

Almost everything on these tags is from ArtStacks.

On the first tag, the backgrounds, the man and the bag are from the Lorraine Haight Moraine stacks and the wings are from the Anemones & Friends CoreStack.

On the second tag, again all the papers are from ArtStacks, but the rainbow and clouds hat is one I pinched from the internet.

The new stacks are soooo much fun to play with!

You can find the new stacks here.

And Lorraine's work here.

Who is Your idol?

Hello!

Are you up for the challenge at More Than Words this month? You need to use the word IDOL on your card, tag, ATC or postcard. I made a tag:

I like this quote. It says. "Luck is the idol of the idle". I can just picture some nagging old grandma saying it though! I keep hearing "Mark my words young man, Luck is the idol of the idle"! Haha.

I used a tissue palmistry hand from ArtStacks' Faces & Figures stack, layering it over some coloured paper.

I hope you'll join us this month. You can find the challenge here.

High Tea at Kraft Plus

Hello!

Have you seen the new challenge at Kraft + yet? You have to be inspired by "Life is Sweet" and, of course, feature kraft in your project.

It was Courtney's birthday recently and we had the most amazing high tea to celebrate. We had way too many cakes so I thought this was a good topic to create about for this subject!

I made this page almost entirely from ArtStacks papers.

I used the stitched canvas roses, vintage sheet music, printed pianola roll and century-old book paper, all from The Homemaker CardStack at ArtStacks. The tissue flowers are from the Anemones & Friends CardStack.

I stitched around the edges of my page using the same stitch that was on the canvas paper.

The cupcakes and scones were delicious!

The birthday cake was too.....

I hope you can join us at kraft +this month! You can find the challenge here.

Happy scrappin'!

My Dad, My Hero.

Welcome back!

The new challenge at More Than Words is to be inspired by the word "Hero" and to use paint on your project.

I wanted to make a layout dedicated to my dad who is 93. He's always been my hero. I found a gorgeous photo of us when I was very young and used that because I think every little girl needs a hero for a dad.

I wanted to use song lyrics on this so I googled them. I found these lyrics sung by a young girl called Ashley Marina which were perfect.

For my "Paint" part of the challenge I made a geli-print background with a stencil and paints. I took a very old piece of sheet music from ArtStacks' The Homemaker stack and stencilled paint over part of that too.

I used the same sheet music to create a few hearts to add to my page.

Who is your hero? Let us see at More Than Words. You can find the challenge here
