The Eyes Have It!

Hello! Have you seen the new Mini Challenge at More Than Words? You have to use the word "Eyes" on your card, tag, ATC or postcard.

I made an ATC:

This was very simple to make. I took a geli-printed background that I already had, punched the top and bottom borders and added an ArtStacks tissue eye to it. I coloured in the iris part of the eye and used a white paint pen to make the white of the eye white because, being tissue, the background colour shows through. Then I just added a few butterflies and some paper, ric-rac, stitching and title.

The title came from a conversation when we were deciding what the Mini word would be. We had a couple of options and so we voted. When "eyes" was chosen, I said "the eyes have it"! It's just a fun play on words.

I hope you can join us this month. You can see all the details here.

Windows & Doors Tags

 Hello! Thanks for popping in.

I've been playing with the new Doors & Windows CardStack from ArtStacks. I love it! I made these tags.

I used a similar colour background on all three tags and added stencilling, stamping and stitching. I also added a few tissue flowers from the Anemones & Friends CardStack. All of these added extra detail to the background paper. On top of that I layered contrasting coloured paper. My featured doors and windows were torn from a page from the Doors & Windows CardStack. All my quotes came from the same stack too.

I love the quotes - and I love that they're all so accessible in the same stack!

Oh - and don't forget there's a challenge running over at ArtStacks too. Pop over to their facebook page to check it out :)

Happy scrappin'!

Faces at More Than Words and Kraft Plus!

Wow - have you heard about the joint challenge between Kraft plus and More Than Words? Both challenge sites are running the same challenge and you can enter both challenges with the one project. The challenge is to be inspired by FACES and, of course, to use kraft as a feature.

The word FACES made me think of the different faces that we wear during our lives. This led to think about the different 'hats' we wear.

I seem to be switching from one hat to another a lot lately and sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming. I feel like it's a mystery which hat I'm going to be wearing from one hour to the next.

With this in mind I made a tongue-in-cheek board game - spin the spinner and see which hat to wear next!

This was a great way to use up paper scraps and leftover alphas. I printed an assortment of hats and typed the names of some of the 'hats' I wear on them. The spinner is an arrow and the face is one from ArtStacks. You can find it here.

You can find the More Than Words challenge here.......

.... and the Kraft + challenge here.

I hope we see you at both challenges soon!

Happy scrappin'!
