Going For Gold!

Ho Ho Ho! I'd like to wish you all a very wonderful Christmas and a happy and creative 2016! Thank you to all my lovely followers who have stuck with me through some very busy patches when I wasn't able to comment on your amazing work. I've loved checking out what each and every one of you have created over the year. It's been amazing!

Today, I have a very Christmassy layout to share. The Dusty Attic girls were asked to create something for Scrap Around The World for their very last challenge.

Here's the stunning mood board at SATW:

As much as I adore this pink and gold combo, I didn't want much pink in the layout cos my son is in the photo so I just used it subtly.

I've gone for a gold on gold look with most of the chippies.

I painted some parts of the Pendants white to make them stand out. These are so drop-dead gorgeous!

I used a combination of Dusty Attic paints and ink to create the watercolour effect on the title.

The Last Scrap Around The World Reveal!

Hello - and welcome to the last Scrap Around The World reveal! Yes, SATW is closing down. This will be the last month but it will be a month with loads of extra prizes, so head over to check it out here.

Here's what I made:

I adore this photo of my daughter. She can be so quiet sometimes and so out there at other times!

Here is the gorgeous mood board by the equally gorgeous Valia Katzaki. I think it's pretty obvious that my influences were the pink and gold colours but I also used flowers and leaves and I added the quote into the main flower cluster. I think any girl that can pull off a pic like this has a very bright future!

I was quite deliberate about where I put the Magicals that form the pink spray behind the photo. I wanted to accentuate that feel of the energy radiating out from my daughter. This photo was actually taken in a room with a really cluttered background, so I photoshopped the background out which also made her stand out more. By making the photo background all white, then leaving it as an almost complete 6 x 4 photo, I was really able to play with the white photo on white cardstock concept.

I kept the title simple - and very self-explanatory! - and coated it with gold paint. I then added gold Metallic Melts to just the bottom half for some extra interest.

SATW in Singapore!

Hello scrappy friends! It's the beginning of a new month which means it's Scrap Around The World time! You can find this month's challenge here.

Here's what I made:



Yes, I caught up with a past and a present SATW girl in Singapore recently! Jelissa Mei and Priscilla Lim are both such lovely ladies. I was so excited to meet them, however I became sick on the way to see them and could barely hold a conversation. I had to leave early :( I promise ladies, next time I'm in Singapore I'll try again!

Here's the fabulous mood board by Tiphanie Barbreau. Isn't it gorgeous?

I've been hanging onto the photo of the three of us just waiting for the right SATW mood board. I just had to use this photo for a SATW challenge of course! As soon as I saw those little houses on the mood board I knew what I wanted to make. To me, Singapore is all about the tall buildings, yet there are still some smaller houses in some areas.



I made the skyscrapers by swiping strips of paint down the page then stencilling 'windows' on with texture paste.




Those gorgeous little houses are from The Dusty Attic. There are extra window shapes which can be added onto some of the houses. I simply painted them with Dusty Attic paints and they came up wonderfully.




The title is made from Dusty attic alphas, again painted with the Dusty Attic paints, and some cool Doodlebug alpha stickers. I wrote my journalling beneath this.
