I thought I'd show you some layouts I made for an article I wrote for Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. Sadly those of you who don't live in Australia probably miss out on this fantastic magazine. The article was about how to effectively use black backgrounds on your layouts.
Here's the first layout:
I made this page to show how a black background can still be used on a soft, feminine page. I used white stamping, rub-ons and paint to add background details then I highlighted the page with soft pinks. There are lots of Dusty Attic goodies on this one.
My second layout shows how black can accentuate bright, bold colors:
Again, I used white on the background to help elements stand out but this time added bright colours for a strong impact.

I did see this article Heather, and black makes for an amazing back ground.. it makes the embellies pop.. love your MM and chipboard you have used , great photos are memories!!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! I Remember this.....love them! I find black hard to work with-----you ROCK them. I must say, the DA Chippy on the top one looks soooo nice:) And the bright pops of colour on the bottom one really does stand out against the black!!!
