January Mini Challenge at More Than Words.

Hullo there. Yep - it's mini challenge time over at More Than Words! The word this month in ONE. The reason we chose this word is because it's More Than Words' first birthday! Woohoo!

Here's my ATC:

And here's the challenge board:

I hope you can in our challenge. The winner receives a $25 voucher from The Dusty Attic plus free postage! You can find the challenge here.

My 2016 faves

I know this is a little late but I've finally got around to looking through my favourite projects from last year. Some are out for publication, but out of the others, in no particular order, these are my faves:

This was made just for the fun of it. I love the bright colours in this one!

I made this for The Dusty Attic. The photo was terrible quality but it's all I had so I just
used it anyway. I had lots of fun with metallics on this.

Another one for The Dusty Attic using Colour Crush and metallic paints.

This one was for Jennifer Mahoney-Hedger's 40th birthday. The whole Dusty Attic
design team got together and made her a page each to put into an album.

This was made for More Than Words. The blue is all Colour Crush.

Another Dusty Attic project with my fave star banner chippie.

Dusty attic again!

This was one I taught at the Melbourne PaperArts Expo.

Another one for More Than Words.

This one was for Scrappy Chat Designs. It was my first introduction to
Colour Crush and it was love at first try!

This was a project for the Mini Challenge at More Than Words.
It's a tag on a gift envelope.

I made this for a 7 Dots challenge.

Follow Your Heart

Hello! Gosh it's been so hot here! I love summer but it's sure nice when we get a few cooler evenings.

I saw the colours of this month's Words and Paintery challenge recently and fell in love. The neutrals and white are such a unique combination.

Here's what I came up with:

Here's the challenge criteria......

.... and here's how I interpreted the quote:

I think it's quite a challenge to use this neutrals colour combo with no pops of colour and I really enjoyed this. I kept the background reasonable clean as I really liked the crisp feel these colours created. I used chipboard, 7 Dots papers, dictionary paper, stamping, gauze and die-cuts to create lots of depth and topped it all with a metal butterfly.

There are only a few days left to join in the challenge! You can find it HERE.

More Than Words in January

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to a wonderful new year of scrappy fun!

You might have a sore head today from too much celebrating but the team at More Than Words are keen to give you a creative kick-start with our new challenge! The inspirational challenge word this month is Celebrate and the creative challenge word is Bling. Here's what I was inspired to create:

I was inspired not only by the challenge board, but by the movie "Arrival". If you've seen it you will know what I'm talking about. If not, I won't spoil it for you. I can only say that I sat in the cinema with scrapping ideas running around in my head - lol!

My circles are made using Tinby Designs Colour Crush. I'm a  bit of a Colour Crush tragic - I can't stop using it!

I think my interpretation of the word "Celebrate" is obvious. For the creative part of the challenge I added some (very old!) sparkly alphas and stars as well as some rhinestones for my "Bling".

One reason we chose the word "Celebrate" as our challenge word, apart from the fact that many people have just celebrated the New Year, is that More Than Words is turning one! Our very first challenge began on January 1st, 2016. We have loved watching all the amazing entries come in over the year. I sure hope you find time this month to join in our challenge on our first birthday! You can find the details here.

Happy scrappin'!
