To Dad, From Us!

Hello there!

The September Mini Challenge has been revealed at More Than Words! The challenge is to use the word FROM on your card, tag, ATC or postcard. Easy, peasy!

I did something different and made a stand-up tag.

You can see the base it 's attached to here.

I made this for my dad for Fathers Day. Dad celebrated his 90th birthday recently. We had a bit of a party for him and we all had a great time. Who'd have thought that a 90th birthday party would be a whole heap of fun?

I've made a step-by-step on how I made the tag and the base.

Step 1
Use a geli plate to create a cool background. Add stamping.

Step 2:
Add more stamping, plus textural elements such as mesh and thread.

Step 3:
Add chippies, stars, die-cuts and words.

Step 4:
Finish the tag with more elements.

Step 5:
To make the base, cut a strip of cardstock to a little wider or narrower than your tag, depending on whether or not you want it to show behind your tag. Fold it so the length of the front suits the size of your tag, then make the back the same length. The base should be very roughly two-thirds of the length of the other sides. Join together with strong tape.

Step 6
Fold the base section as shown. Don't worry of the cardstock curves a bit. It will straighten when the tag goes on it.

Step 7
Attach the tag to the front of the stand.

I hope you can join us at More Than Words this month. You can find the challenge here.

Happy scrappin'!

Heather
