Dusty in May

Hello friends! I'm here today to share a layout made using the gorgeous May Dusty Attic moodboard as my inspiration. You can find the challenge HERE.

I went all out on the Dusty Attic products on this one! I've used Dusty Attic paints, chippies and stencils.

I treated the title with gold paint then added Tinby Designs Metallic Melts to just the second word for extra interest.

I love the new Dusty Attic chippie tabs. They're so versatile! The feather is a real one I found in the paddock. I sprayed it to match the page.

The flourish came up really well with just a simple coat of gesso then a few gold highlights.

The Dusty Attic products I used are:
Mini Captions #2

Stars #2, DA0937

Ornate Corner #13, DA1137

Mini Tabs #2, DA1463

Creative Script Stencil, DA1494

Stars Stencil

Dusty in Colour Paints in Dusty Pink,
Sugar Plum, Jungle Green and Soot.

I sure hope you can join in our challenge this month!

Happy scrappin'!

Life is Good

Hello! I hope you had a great weekend. I have a layout to share that I made using some gorgeous Dusty Attic chippies, flowers and paints. We went on a trip around some wineries in the McLaren Vale in South Australia a few years ago and I took this wonderful photo at a brewery there.

The stone wall effect and the title are created with Tinby Designs Metallic Melts. I love decorating chippies with these!

The flowers and the chippies combine perfectly to create a support under the photo.

I made this layout a while ago but never got around to posting it. I made a video at the time. I've improved on my video skills since then but you'll get the general idea!

The Dusty Attic products I used are:

DA1094 Branch #3

DA1098 Elegant Swirl #2

DA1076 Hashtag Sayings

DA0956 Dusty Roses Crushed Olive

DA0805 Dusty in Bloom Bridal Veil and

DA0809 Dusty in Bloom Grassy Knoll

Dusty in Colour Alabaster, Mountain Meadow,
Forrest and Gingernut paints

Dusty Attic Clear Gloss Varnish

Vintage Scrappy Chat

Hello again! Thanks for popping in.

I have a new layout to share using the "Vintage Garden" kit from Scrappy Chat Designs. Unlike my last layout using this kit, this time I have utilised both the 'vintage' and the 'garden' aspect of the kit.

Here's what I made:

Even though the papers that I used are quite floral - and vintage - I still managed to add my more modern touch to them.

On this layout I show a great way for using up alpha stickers. I stamped onto my background paper, stuck my alphas on top then painted over them. When the paint dried I carefully peeled the stickers off to show the different layers underneath. Cool!

I die cut a shape from the foil card and added Metallic Lustre on top. The gorgeous butterflies came from one of the papers.

More Than Words in May

Hello there! Welcome back to my blog.

Today I'm sharing the layout I made for the new More Than Words challenge. The challenge word this month is "Moment" and the creative challenge is to use clocks, or parts of clocks, in your project. You can find the challenge here.

Here's what I made:

I was inspired by both the word and the creative challenge to use a photo of my daughter when she was going through a phase of dressing up in Japanese-inspired costumes. She had a lot of fun with this.

That chippie under the photo is a gorgeous Dusty Attic flourish. I simply painted it white. The clocks are a die.

The title is a Dusty Attic one. I painted it in two colours in a random way, just to be different!

I hope you can join our challenge this month! Here's the challenge board:
