Just For Fun

Hello again!

My mum cleaned out some things from her house and gave me a box of old crafty bits and pieces. In it I found some very old Creative Memories stickers. I remember using these when I first started scrapbooking over 20 years ago. I was about to thrown them in the rubbish but then I had an idea. Could I use 20 year old stickers in a modern art journal page? I accepted the challenge!

I thought the pink and the purple striped stickers were usable so I added them down the side of the page. I think they worked ok. The very dated tulips I could perhaps have done without though......

In keeping with the old stash theme, the only new thing on this page is the stencil. Everything else  I've had for years.

It's All About the Cuts

Hullo, hullo! I hope you are staying safe and well and are getting in lots of crafty time!

Have you seen the new challenge at Kraft +? You need to use Scissor Cuts on your kraft project. Hmmm, now that's a challenge! I'm not a big fan of fussy-cutting but I bit the bullet and did heaps of it on this layout. There are many bright sides to this lockdown and I wanted to document some of the great walks I've been on. It's a great way (in fact the only way!) to catch up with friends, even it's just one at a time and we have to stay 1.5 metres apart. :)

I stamped lots of small flowers onto painted cardstock and cut them all out. I also fussy cut some banners.

I scattered the flowers around the page. The butterflies are die-cut from the same paper. Cutting them out with scissors would be almost impossible!

I also fussy-cut the title from a sheet and the leaf from a napkin.

I hope you can join us this month! You can see more details on the challenge here.

Camouflage!

Hello and welcome back! How are you coping in these unusual times? One way our family stays fit when we can't go the gym/netball/karate and whatever other sports we play, is by going for walks. We've discovered many walks that we previously didn't know existed. In fact I didn't know that some of these parks and forests even existed so close to us!

One day we went for a walk where there had been fires a couple of years ago. There are still many burnt trees and my hubby found that they had black soot on them. It didn't take long before he and our daughter were painting camouflage stripes on each other!

The challenge at More Than Words this month is to be inspired by the word FUNNY and to use STRIPES on your project. I thought this photo was perfect. :)

I was on a mission to use up lots of the bits and pieces that were lying around on my desk from my last project or two, plus to use up some old stickers. It was great not having to fussy-cut things out as I'd already done that prior to this for another project then ended up not using them at the time.

I did lots of doodling. I love doing this to my pages.

Have you seen the amazing prizes we have at More Than Words? You can check out the challenge here.

Happy scrappin'!
