Brisbane Expo and Once Upon A Sketch

Hi there. I hope you had a great Easter break.

Things have been busy here as I've been getting my products organised for the class I'm teaching at the Brisbane Scrapbooking Expo. If you haven't looked at the classes yet, here's a link. I'm on each day at noon til 2pm. Here's a sneak peek, although keep in mind that this class is a freestyle one where the accent is on learning ways in which layouts can be put together as well as learning new techniques and playing with products. You can choose to make your layout look nothing like this if you want!

I've also been scrapping over the Easter break and this month I thought I'd have a go at the Once Upon A Sketch challenge. The journalling theme this month is  "An event that changed my life". I wanted to scrap about our daughter leaving home to go to university. I know it's a big change in her life but it's easy to forget that it's a big change in our lives too. We miss her. Life is just different without her. The house is cleaner though!

I took photos of her suitcases of clothes when she was packing as it wasn't easy to get photos of her when she was concentrating on what to pack. Here's my layout:

I love the colours on this.

Here are some closies:

The papers are a mix of old and new ones and I've got some gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboards on there. Hope you can join in at OUAS this month.

Happy Scrappin'!

Heather

  4. Such a gorgeous page...and love the slightly messy feel to it, which is absolutely perfect for this theme! Your design is really fabulous and love the papers you chose! As Val said above, I am certain it's bitter sweet....always hard to let go and yet one wants them to blossom and flourish! Your sneak peak for the expo looks super...beautiful colours! ;-)

  5. Yes that is true, as each child leaves the nest the house goes through a change.. you miss the noise that they used to make, the house is quieter, and yes cleaner and the meals can be a little smaller too.. but they are missed.. love your layout.. love the grungy feel under your photos.. fabulous.. I must check out the link to the craft show.. I would really love to do a class this year..
