Dusty Attic

Hello!

I've been having fun this week channeling my inner grunge queen for this layout for Dusty Attic. Here's what I made:

I find it so easy to use chipboard on projects. It's just so versatile. I thought I'd show you how you can use chippie shapes to create completely new shapes. Those circles are actually viewfinders and the arrows under one of the circles plus the corner frames on the photo are actually arms of crosses.

Here are some closies:

To show you what I mean, here are some of the the products I used to make new shapes:

And here's how I grunged them up:

Step 1
Cut the long arm from a cross and swipe Alabaster Dusty in Colour paint across a few places of the remaining piece with your finger.

Step 2
Randomly ink a few places with a brown stamp.

Step 3
Draw on Gelatos in a few places and rub in with a baby wipe.

Step 4
Add Bronze Beck BT's Tinby Designs Metallic Melts to random sections.

Step 5
Add Carbon Metallic Melts to other sections.

The finished piece:

To finish off this piece I took a Page Pebble, smudged a bit of Alabaster paint over it with my finger, inked the edge and used a brown pen to make the word stand out more. I then layered it on a View Finder and an Ornate Cross that I had treated in the method above.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Happy scrappin'!

Heather
