Hi everyone,
I know we all love making our layouts and hopefully we really love what we create. Every now and then though, we make a layout that we are particularly pleased with .This is one such layout for me. It was published in Scrapbooking Memories, Vol 14, No 10.
This is a real favourite of mine. The photo is of my daughter who is into gothic lolita clothing, amongst other things. The makeup she wears with this clothing is amazing and I wanted to create a layout with as much impact as the eye makeup and accessories had.
My daughter's coloured contact lenses are purple so I knew I wanted a black, white and purple theme. I had grabbed the purple ribbon from my stash and I accidentally dropped it onto the page. It fell in something like the folded pattern above and the rest, as they say, is history.
Looking at the other products on the page, I don't think any of them were particularly new. The letters are quite old - I don't exactly have a large stash of purple letters! It just goes to show you don't always need the latest and greatest products to create a page you love.
Anyway, I'm pretty stoked with this layout! I hope you like it too.
Heather
Love the picture.....and didnt even know you could buy white eyeliner. LOL. That purpple really pops, great page
ReplyDeleteI saw this in the mad, it looks awesome. The photo is just so striking!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing this, too - it really does 'pop'....funny how some LOs go together with no effort at all - & sooo nice when that happens!....And if you're on the net looking at my page now & the phone rings....it's GroundHog day:):):):
ReplyDeleteOK, so this is truly bizarre! I did not know you were the same age. Happy BD for Tuesday:):):) Enjoy those last fleeting moments of your 40s.... I seemed to take a bit of adjusting to being in my 50s. Sounds so OLD. I don't FEEL like I should be in my 50s. Hope you're OK with it!!! Wonder if you're having a big celebration? I slunk away so no-one could do anything! But I'm not a party gal:):) Whatever you do, I hope you have a lovely day & that you get SPOILT ROTTEN:):):)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lizzy. Actually, there's no slinking away for me. I've got the whole party thing happening. I've hired the local town hall, got the band organised and people are coming from 3 other states. It's a 50's theme. It's all those retro October Afternoon papers that made me think of this theme. I just can't help myself!
DeleteWat are you doing Saturday night? It's not too late to get a cheap flight!!!
BTW, I just discovered Scrap Friends through your site. It looks great. I'll put something on in a few days...
Go you! Wish I could be like that...but we're all different. Am I right you're down Geelong way? Don't know WHY I think that! Anyway, hope you have fun. 3 states! Wow! We're off OS in 16 days time....think I'll save my pennies for that:):):) Off for 5 weeks, so I'll be MIA for a while! SF is fun! Be good to see you there:):) BTW, GREAT idea for a theme...v clever!!! I'd LOVE to see a 90 yr old do a '90s theme [heeheee!!!]

ReplyDeletefab page heather! i love the use of only purple with the black and white colours and i love the way you've used the ribbon. love all the different patterns on it to and the bar code at the top, fab :o) x
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and saying hi Heather :). I scanned in my boys drawings and chose 9 and selected the option to print them in a grid format, 9 photos to a page. I think I was called wallet prints or something like that. They were the perfect size for what I wanted. HTH :).
ReplyDeleteThanks Kerryn!
DeleteWOW such a stunning page!!! I have a bit of a thing for purple (thanks to my Prince obsession) and just LOVE the way you have used it to bring this fabulous page to life! Congrats on the pub too :)
